• before using a razor, use a pair of scissors to trim
• after trimming the hair, take a warm bath or shower to soften the pubic hair (which is very coarse) and open the follicles so that it prevents ingrown hairs
• exfoliate, exfoliation is important because it removes any dead skin cells but if you’ve never shaven your pubic area before I’d avoid this step for the first few shaves since exfoliation can expose tender skin cells and the dead skin will protect you during the shave (so you might want to exfoliate after)
• shave using an oil as opposed to a shaving cream, I recommend coconut oil it prevents razor bumps, itching and ingrown hairs
• moisturize afterwards, they actually sell moisturizers at target for when you shave your pubic area and I think they’re about 10.00
– apply the oil to your pubic area
– run the razor under warm water
– shave using long slow strokes
– rinse your razor off after every strokedon’t push down on the blade, don’t shave against the hair, don’t do too many strokes, don’t over-shave, don’t shave too frequently, don’t use old or used blades
